I have so many memorables experiences from power point, the first time I hold a lecture for 600 students in an auditorium I felt so nervous, when I realize that the power point was guiding me through the topic I started to feel calmed and relaxed, since that moment 10 years ago I heavily rely on power points. This week in our course about web skills we had shared interesting points of view about not just power points but other fantastic strategies to improve students engagement.
I see that using power point permits me to include so many cultural aspects about language learning such as cartoons, music, videos, quotes, etc in a very interactive way.
Now technology has provided us so many new things and we have to take advantage of it, using and appliying things like clicker are valuable for our students.

Dear Boris,
ResponderEliminarReally I cannot imagine how you could held a lecture to 600 hundred students, it is incredible and amazing , it demonstrates how good are you as a teacher.
On the other hand I agree with you about the fact that we have to take advantage of technology even though we are digital inmigrants yet.
Regards,
Maggie
Dear Boris
ResponderEliminarYes Boris, I agree with you completely; we have been learning many important points regarding language learning. It is interesting to think that, before the course begin, perhaps I would have emphasized on the use of word "teaching."
However, this time during ongoing course, I have seen that we are paying more attention to word "learning;" in other words, without realizing this, we have been learning a great deal in terms of giving our teachings a more reliable shift towards a more learner centered approach. Don't you think?

Dear Boris,
ResponderEliminar600?!?!?!?!?!?!?! If PowerPoint helped you with 600 hundred students, imagine what it can do in a regular size class of 20.
As you mentioned, it is a guide, and not a copy of the original material you are presenting. The key lies in making the most out of it.

Hi Boris the Hero
ResponderEliminarI couldn't agree more with my friends about the miracle you created with 600 students. I cannot even imagine that. However, you are totally right about the power of powerpoint and the confidence it gives us. It saves many things such as time, frustration, desperateness. Just like you, I feel really happy with the result of this week as it helped us a lot with new horizons about using this magic tool. Not only powerpoints of course, the new ideas to apply in large classes as well as small ones.
Best, Nehir
Dear Boris,
ResponderEliminarI too think it is amazing how power point presentations allow us to bring together all sorts of media. By including videos, cartoons, quotes and sound files we make our presentation appealing to students with different learning styles.

Hi Boris
ResponderEliminarI was astonished when I read that you holded a lecture to 600 students in an auditorium...wow!
But you ar true when you say that Power Point helps a lot with organizing materials, contents, and including videos, cartoons, and music in an interactive way.
Our goal every class is to keep students engaged to the class.
